Specialists from all over Europe met at the headquarters of the Vicenza-based company that operates in the production of electro-medical systems to share clinical experiences and identify new areas of experimentation in the veterinary field.
Not just the production of laser devices for physiotherapy and rehabilitation in the "human" and "veterinary" fields, but also particular attention to training and "knowledge sharing". Through its veterinary division, ASAveterinary, ASAlaser opens the doors of its plant in Arcugnano to professionals in the sector, giving them the opportunity to see first-hand the entire production process of the devices – faithful to the principles of Lean Manufacturing – and to deepen and improve their knowledge in the field of laser therapy and magnetotherapy.
This full immersion in the organisation and industrial production goes hand in hand with sharing the corporate modus operandi regarding the structure and provision of training courses which bring specialists from different countries together to share clinical skills and experiences. Various objectives are pursued with this strategy: to expand the network of experts to support the development of local training projects, shortening the distances between producer and user; to generate significant opportunities for collaboration between professionals who, under the aegis of ASA and ASAveterinary, can become ambassadors of the value of laser therapy and magnetotherapy; to develop increasingly innovative and effective training courses; to implement a rapid and effective test & feedback process for the future development of the “made in ASA” range of devices.
ASA VET Master Training: a successful first step
The first experiment of this development approach was the ASA VET Master Training during which 12 international specialists gathered at the ASA headquarters in July. Objectives: to receive scientific and clinical updates regarding the company's Therapeutic Solutions; to present clinical cases drawn from personal experience; to share results by interacting with colleagues.
Conducted by Silvia Meggiolaro (DVM, PhD, CCRP, as well as ASAVeterinary Specialist) with the support of Giacomo Granozio (Biomedical Engineer and ASA Education Program Manager), the "Master" marked the birth of an international team of experts ready to collaborate with each other and with the company. Various thematic round tables, in which theoretical information alternated with practical case studies, also brought out new possible areas of research and experimentation on which to invest or focus in the medium term. The dissemination of the latest research carried out by the ASAcampus scientific division and centred on MLS® Laser Therapy and Magnetotherapy Qs was a useful tool to encourage interaction between those present.
“Sharing the scientific materials – specifies Meggiolaro - made everyone attending enthusiastic, demonstrating their desire to provide a concrete contribution to the team created during these training days. A training event whose format was successful: the alternation between studies and publications regarding a specific topic and, to follow, the discussion of practical clinical case studies on the topic was highly appreciated. From this constructive exchange, valid opportunities for growth will only open up for both the professionals and the company”.
Granozio’s assessment is similar:
“The Master has strengthened our leading position in the veterinary laser therapy sector, as manufacturers of quality systems and “providers of knowledge”. Bringing together many experts from different countries, each with particular skills but all sharing a great passion and experience in the use of laser therapy, is certainly unprecedented in our sector. This team of professionals, called upon to support the activities of our partners in the field, will also be particularly useful to ASA. Their feedback, the result of the daily use of our systems, will allow us to better direct the development of our next “Therapeutic Solutions”.
