In high-level basketball, recovery isn't enough: you need to return to the court at the right time, in the best possible condition, and without losing consistency during a season characterised by heavy loads, tight schedules, and constant overload.
This balance between rehabilitation, pain management, and performance is the focus of Bachir Elias's work. A physical therapist specialising in sports rehabilitation and pain management with over twenty years of experience working with basketball players, professional clubs, and national youth teams.
In his daily practice, MLS® Laser Therapy has become an integrated tool not only for injury management, but also for post-game recovery and athlete maintenance throughout the season. In this interview, Elias explains how technology, clinical experience, and prevention can contribute to a very concrete goal: reduce time off the court and keep athletes ready to play.
Can you briefly tell us about your professional background and experience in basketball?
I'm Bachir Elias, a physiotherapist specialising in sports rehabilitation and pain management. I've been working with elite basketball athletes for over 20 years, collaborating with professional clubs and national youth teams, including the Under-16 and Under-18 teams.
In my work, basketball is an extremely demanding environment: intense pace, heavy loads, and tight schedules require a structured, multidisciplinary, and highly efficient approach.
What convinced you to choose ASA devices?
I chose ASA because I was looking for a technology that was both effective, safe, and supported by scientific evidence.
MLS® Laser Therapy has proven to be a concrete solution for addressing three key aspects of basketball: pain control, inflammation management, and accelerated recovery.
But what makes the difference is its long-term reliability: consistent results that can be easily integrated into daily practice.
What is your role in managing elite basketball athletes?
In basketball, my work is based on three pillars: injury management, return to the court, and performance maintenance.
Today, simply treating an injury is no longer enough: you need to ensure continuity. Teams need players who are available, not just recovered.
This is where technology becomes strategic.

How do you integrate MLS® Laser Therapy during a competitive season?
MLS® Laser Therapy is fully integrated into my clinical routine.
I use it post-games to speed up recovery, between games to manage inflammation and overload, and during training to maintain tissue quality.
During periods with a congested schedule, it is a fundamental tool because it allows intervention without adding stress to the athlete.
How does MLS® Laser Therapy help you reduce time off the court?
In high-level basketball, the real goal is not just to heal, but to minimise time off the court.
Thanks to MLS® Laser Therapy, we can:
This has a direct impact on the season and the team's results.
How important is maintenance in managing athletes during the season?
One of the most underestimated aspects is maintenance.
In basketball, micro-traumas and overloads are constant. Early intervention means avoiding more serious injuries.
The ASA technology allows us to work preventatively, keeping athletes in optimal condition throughout the season.
What are the most obvious clinical and performance benefits you've noticed?
The benefits I've noticed are clear:
This translates into players who are more ready, more reactive, and more consistent.
What are the most common conditions you treat in basketball players?
The most common conditions I treat include:
In all these cases, MLS® Laser Therapy has proven particularly effective in controlling inflammation and promoting recovery without interrupting activity.
How do athletes perceive MLS® Laser Therapy?
Players clearly perceive the benefits because they report a greater feeling of readiness, certainly less pain, and a faster recovery.
But above all, it increases their confidence: they know they can maintain their level without interruption.
Ultimately, what does choosing ASA mean for your athletes?
In high-level basketball, even small improvements can have a huge impact.
MLS® Laser Therapy isn't just a recovery tool, but a true ally for performance.
For me, choosing ASA means being able to offer my athletes something extra: consistency, reliability, and the ability to always stay in the game.
