Firenze, 15 April 2021 – Prof. Leonardo Masotti passed away. With his ideas and his scientific curiosity he gave an enormous impetus to the development of technological culture in Italy and in the world, also contributing to the growth of successful high tech entities. One of all, the Florentine El.En. of which he was co-founder and fundamental scientific reference until the very last days, would have soon celebrated with him its fortieth anniversary.

Born in Romagna in the city of Faenza, he graduated in Engineering from the University of Bologna and after the period spent as an officer at the Naval Academy of Livorno and at the microwaves center in Florence he became Professor of Electronic Engineering at the University's Faculty of Engineering from its establishment in 1970.

He was always animated by the great pleasure of transferring his knowledge, which he always made available together with his human and intellectual skills, to share with others the gift he had received.

The Board of Directors of El.En. Spa with its General Manager recall Prof Leonardo Masotti as follows: "We still have his smile, his kindness of a gentleman from the past and the great passion he transmitted to all of us. Let's make good use of it. It is our duty."
