Case-control study on patients affected by gonarthritis : HILT vs. intra-articular infiltration of hyaluronic acid
The study is being performed by Dr.ssa Tamara Viliani, at the CTO physiatry ward (Dir. Prof. P.Pasquetti ), Florence, and it is still in progress. Before arriving at the surgical phase, several medical and instrumental therapies have been applied for the treatment of gonarthritis. Among these, infiltration of hyaluronic acid is considered a good therapeutic tool, according to literature. The aim of this study is to evaluate in patients affected by gonarthritis the clinical and functional effectiveness of HILT, analgesic/antiphlogistic programme, versus intra-articular hyaluronic acid infiltration treatment. The participants of the study were 40 patients, 50 -75 years old, affected by gonarthritis and identified according to ACR, Kellgren and Lawrence scale, II, III, IV degree; the outcomes will be known next autumn.
