Content of the 2nd issue of “Energy for health”:The first paper deals with the effect of laser therapy on prevention of muscle atrophy due to immobilization.The second paper describes the results of a clinical study on the therapeutic effect of exercises and pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) in the management of incontinence.Then, an overview on the benefit of using low power laser is presented.The fourth paper concerns the effect of intensity modulation of a CO2 laser beam on the temperature of a targeted thermal sensor simulating biological tissue and shows that the modulation of intensity can offer very useful advantages. Finally, there is an interesting paper on the development of an autofluorescence-based diagnostic.

The 3rd issue of “Energy for health” is a special one, dedicated to the 3rd Meeting on Hilterapia® held in Venice on 29th november 2009.In the 3rd issue there are papers related with the communications presented at the meeting. These describe the results of clinical studies on the application of Hilterapia® in the treatment of muscle lesions in the athletes, knee osteoarthritis, back pain, post surgical pain after the release of the carpal tunnel and also proprioceptive balance disorders.
